The verdant thick
forests situated in the rain shadow
region of the Western Ghats in Kerala

wildlife sanctuaries abundant in variety
of flora, fauna and aero fauna. Evading
these mysterious locales are some
of the most pleasant trekking and
hiking trails in the countryside,
drenched in the spice-scented air
of endless acres of plantations of
Tea, coffee, cardamom, vanilla, pepper,
oranges, mangoes and many more. These
exotic dense forests are also home
to the rare giant grizzled squirrel
of India, the Malabar Pied Hornbill,
the Crested Serpent Eagle and the
Malabar Tree Nymph butterfly.
