The Sri Laxmi Venkatesh Temple
is a famous Hindu temple,
which is dedicated to the
beautiful images of Laxmi
and Lord Venkatesh or Vishnu.
The temple is situated at
Hosdurg in Kanhangad. Built
in December 1989, the temple
is thronged by tourists and
devotees alike, throughout
the year, for its magnificence
and mystical value.
The Keralite temple is an
amalgam of stonework, woodwork,
stuccowork and painting -
harmoniously blended into
a structure vibrant with traditions
of the region. The woodwork
here is of great importance,
and it gives the essential
verve and character to the
Kerala temple silhouette.
