Nestled
in the southeast corner
of the Western Ghats,
the Neyyar sanctuary is
the drainage basin of
the Neyyar river and its
tributaries – Mullayar
and Kallar. Neyyar wildlife
reservoir holds attention
of tourists for housing
a crocodile-rearing center,
dear farm and an exciting
lion safari park. The
sanctuary has a very rich
lush green flora cover
that renders the sanctuary
an ideal gene pool and
breeds a stunning variety
of fauna and aero fauna.
The wild animals that
can be spotted in the
sanctuary are Tiger, Leopard,
barking deer, Bonnet Macaque,
Sambar, Elephants, Gaur,
Sloth Bear, Nilgiri Tahr,
Jungle Cat, Wild Boar,
Nilgiri and Langur. |
